Week Three: I Found God in the Mayo

Today is the beginning of treatment week three. This week is going to be pretty packed with appointments, fundraiser, new meds, and so forth.
Today I woke out of my sleep with major anxiety and stomach pain. I had a tough time trying to get my empty AM , breakfast meds, and pre-treatment meds in. A friend of mine sent me a video message praying for me and I really started feeling some relief.
Once my system was calm enough to start for the day, Nurse Santa and his one-handed sidekick set up my first antibiotic bag. I started feeling sick quickly into treatment. Dad grabbed an Alka Seltzer Gold for me and I tried to take it easy during the drip.
Dad had to take Mom to an appointment, so my dear Abbie came up to sit with me. While she was here we cried (hadn't seen each other in so long bc Covid), we laughed, we talked, she washed my hair, and even got to polo her sweet girl! Abbie also, helped me so much because at random I had an array of symptoms flare up; it got down right funny at times( You know laugh or cry baby, laugh or cry.) At one point I was trying to get a snack out of the fridge to keep the nausea down, when suddenly I was so hot. I grabbed the first cold thing in the fridge. Yup Dukes Mayo. It really did my heart so much good to see friend in person.
I was pretty exhausted after, in a good way, so I took a bit to rest. After I made some dinner and took several rounds of meds, we started my second antibiotic bag.
Later in the night, I had quite a histamine reaction with full body itching and painful skin. I took some Benadryl and plan to take an Epsom salt bath to try to alleviate my skin and detox.
It appears my body is responding more to the medications. I am trying to get an Epsom soak in every antibiotic day as well as a few other ways to detox. I have been super thirsty with treatment, so I am drinking a lot of extra water. This is another great way to detox that is painless, so I welcome drinking more and more water.
Tomorrow is a huge day. I have to be at the ophthalmologist before 7:20 AM. I am hoping the inflammation and high pressure in my eyes will be healed with a clean bill of health. Early mornings are really tough on me and throw my med schedule and IV bags off schedule, causing more upheaval to my system.
Please be praying the morning goes smoothly.
Furthermore, because mom only has one hand, we are having a friend come and do the dressing change. I know she is fully qualified to change my dressing, but the dressing change already makes me nervous. Please be praying I can be calm, at peace, and that the change is done with little pain.
Thank you for all your prays and messages. A big thank you to folks coming to the house.
