"Even when it's raining, the sunshine is still there." - Clare Josa

My recent appointment in D.C. was anything but interesting to say the least. As I mentioned in my most recent post about an “ocean of tears,” the appointment consisted of me inconsolably crying while the Specialist asked questions.

After seeing my mental/emotional state, my specialist felt I needed an extra week “off” to help further detox because my body seems to be in a hyperimmune response state.

This week off IV antibiotics has been very busy. I had several appointments which were off for a while. One of those being an appointment with my dietician. The appointment went really well, and I am excited my dietician has given me the greenlight to add a few foods back in my diet. I have to figure out which foods are allowed according to other restrictions for things such as Lyme, treatment, DNA results, mast cell activation syndrome, and other so forth. I am very excited with the prospects of new possibilities.

Furthermore, this off week has been comprised of stomach pain, decreased appetite, high high full body pain, and several migraines. I am assuming these all result from detoxing

from medications and herxing. I did, however, get a chance to go to church for the first time in who knows how long, thanks to my mom. Funny enough the next day, less than a one twenty-four-hour period, I slept on and off for twelve hours. Pretty crazy recovery, knowing how difficult sleep tends to be for me.

Moreover, I got my hair cut, which I really like. I saw a picture of my hair this time last year and I am amazed at the difference in growth. With still being sick and even taking more medications than last year the growth is amazing. I have to give a shout out to Monat who I believe was a huge contributor to that. Also, on the occasion, between treatment days, when I get to see my niece and nephews really fills my cup. Even more so, when we share big laughs, cuddles, or taking photos of nature at Walmart.

My next protocol will start on Monday, October 25th and look very similar to the

previous one (duration and IV medication wise.) There are some added medications, blood tests to check a couple levels, and a few changes in medication doses. From the looks of my poor treatment buddy, who started the protocol, this time around looks rough.

Please keep me in your prayers as I prep and begin the next protocol on Monday. Also, be praying for me with the new medication changes titrating up and down, stomach issues, the ability to get good rest and pain levels.

Thank you for all your support and love. Several folks have contacted me asking questions and checking in on me, which is always encouraging, thank you for that!
