“And I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free. And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.” - Lee Greenwood

This past week was a much harder with treatment, BUT I am officially through month two!!!!

I have had a rise in response to medications and I have been wiped out much more easily.

It feels like I have been constantly swallowing medications. Some were exceptionally awful. A treatment buddy and I call one “death juice” because it is particularly terrible, like drinking acid. We joke, but really good description, in addition to the yellow “finger paint” medication. While I have had a much harder time this month, I am so grateful that I made it through what the Specialist said would be one of my more tough months. Fingers crossed I don’t have to take some of these meds again, but I will do what needs to be done, nonetheless.

Also, this week, I saw my new ophthalmologist, who I don’t plan on seeing again if I can help it because of his very rude attitude and unprofessionalism toward me. Unfortunately, I have high eye pressure returning to my eyes. We are not sure why it has gone up again, I think it will dissipate, but the doctor wants me to come back in a couple of weeks to recheck my eye pressure.

Tomorrow my parents and I will be heading back to Washington, D.C. for an appointment on Tuesday. We will be looking at this past month with how I responded. I will have a test IV medication to make sure I do not have any allergic reactions. From there the doctor will give instructions for my next protocol.

Thank you for all your prayers. Thank you for those checking in and even writing, especially this past week it has been really encouraging.

Please be praying for safe travels, while more folks will be on the road on Monday.

*** ALSO, Memorial Day is a time to pause, remember, reflect and honor the fallen. ***

This is not just extra time off work but time to honor those lives. I am so grateful to those who have given their lives for my freedom! If you have a loved one who has given their life through the military for this great country and would be comfortable commenting their name below, please feel free to do so.
