Meet Nurse Santa: The Ervin House Medical Fiasco

Nurses have to wear many faces, including Santa's. Introducing nurse Santa.

Over the last three days, our house become quite a medical spectacle.

Friday morning I had blood work done. This time around it went better than the week before, probably due to supplements and a good 'ole LR bag on Thursday.

Once we were back home, Mom got me started on my first antibiotic bag.

I felt okay after, even walked around the yard... Until I didn't feel well.

I started herxing, ending up in the bed. The herx was long-lasting but the intensity did not last as long as it had on Wednesday.

While I was lying down with heating pads wrapped around my arm and shoulder, I heard a shout from the kitchen. Mom burned her hand badly. We tried taking care of it, but as the night went on she had to go to the ER. A neighbor came over and helped me with my second antibiotic bag. Mom and Dad got back to the house around Midnight and Mom was all bandaged up. She will be bandaged for another week and healing for another three.

Saturday, Dad god a crash course in being not only my nurse but moms as well. He has been doing an excellent job, quick learner. My LR bag took so so very long time, but to keep me from feeling poorly we are having to take things a bit slower.

Sunday (today), I watched church online, took a "bath", went through another LR bag, cooked some food for Monday, and refilled my medications.

This weekend was extensive to say the least. In all the crazy, I think we are doing ok. I am taking each day, each moment one at a time. It still feels like the days are slow moving, but the weeks are flying by!

Next week adds several things to the mix. Additional antibiotics and the craft/vendor show fundraiser.

(Keep in mind the fundraiser is May 1, in Advance from 9-3pm. We are still open for vendors contact me if you are interested or would like to volunteer to help out. Furthermore, spread the word and plan on coming out.)
