Growth and forward motion involve celebrating the small victories. ~AE
These last couple weeks have been a blur looking back, but during each day, they were definitely not a blur. Since my last post I have finished a protocol, in the detox stage, and completed the IV antibiotic portion of another. I am not walking into the detox weeks again.
I had several appointments in the last couple weeks. All went well, but usually end in a crash by the afternoon. But again, all went well.
Once treatment started, it hit me day one. The first week was pretty brutal. The second week had a lot of brutal moments too. I spent several days in bed, some of which I couldn’t sit up. There was a lot of stomach pain, great difficulty falling asleep, and the regular pains.
I am so glad to be done with the IV antibiotic stage! It will take four to five days after my last IV to “recover” from the medications.
I have many pockets of joy over this last month. One includes a post I put online. I
mentioned that we are in a tight spot with finances and continuing treatment and a couple people rose to the occasion and generously gave. I am so overwhelmed by these generous gifts straight from the start. Believe me they came right in time so that I could buy some of my meds and IV supplies. I actually have a medication that is around $500.00, and these donations are going to make it where I can buy that med. SO THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH to those who gave! (If you feel led to give or host a fundraiser, please let me know, I will try to help out in whatever way I can. Also, I will include ways to give just in case anyone is interested.) Do keep an eye out for a couple yard sales coming up later this month and toward the end of August.
More pockets of joy include getting to celebrate a cousins birthday, observing a crazy hail storm, trying out some new recipes, celebrating Dad on Father’s Day, watching the birds and the crazy acrobatic squirrels, taking in a bit of fresh air, watching a sunflower bloom, running an errand with my niece, and a short visit of all the niece and nephews (who I hadn’t seen in almost two weeks), and I even went on a tiny walk from part of the back yard to the front where I saw so many flowers and honey bees.
The next two weeks I will be working hard to try to detox as much as possible. I have a couple appointments in these weeks, one including a phone appointment with my specialist. I am hoping that he will determine I only need one more IV protocol, but I understand if that’s not quite where I am. I am also hoping that he will be able to speak to my blood work. It seems a few things are either really high or pretty low, so I definitely want to discuss that. Please be praying as we navigate treatment and my body’s response and what my blood work is showing.
Also, be praying for my body as I come out of the antibiotics and into the detoxing stage, it can be a bit harsh on my system. Pray there will be great healing and my appointments will be very beneficial to things going on with treatment. Pray for God to provide in whatever fashion financially to help continue treatment. Lastly, be praying I will keep pushing through with grace and strength.
Thank you for all you do to support and encourage me!!!
