WOWZAS. Anyone else feel like this month has flown by? Its funny how much change goes on in the month of March.
Here’s a rundown of the last month (and a half technically).
We launched the Love a Lymie Challenge on February 14 & Boy does this Lymie feel loved. A friend of mine came up with the concept of people or “teams” committing to raising $500 in whatever unique fashion. I’m floored with everyone’s involvement and how it exceeded any of our expectations! Some of the ways people met their goals through many creative ways included contacting friends, family, and community members, creating a cave adventure tour, hosting online parties, giving a percentage of earnings with small companies, percentage night at a restaurant, a donation drive by, and several others.
We had a yard sale fundraiser in Charlotte, NC. There were many donations and so many of my family that came to help the day of. The sale went really well with a steady flow all day of folks finding treasures. It was a really precious time to see so many family members working together, especially because this past year we weren’t able to get together at all. I even got to meet a new cousin, who is so very cute!

The day after the Charlotte yard sale, we launched a new t-shirt campaign. I am extra excited about the new line of apparel. “I Love a Lymie” and “I’m a Lymie” in several stick figure designs for everyone who a collaboration among five different people at different times. I love seeing people come together and sharing talents and skills! I did a short launch to kick off the campaign, but the shirts are always available on my store at the following link AND they give a percentage to me to help with treatment costs!
Over the last month and a half, I had several varies appointments as well as tests and x-rays. There were several findings through all of this. I had a major inflammation flare, unfortunately with weight g
ain, great deal of pain, and extra migraines and fatigue. The eye doctor found that I had a significant amount of inflammation in my eyes. The eye doctor, out of all specialist, said he believed it to be due to underlining disease, I.E. Lyme. I was so grateful another doctor even recognized Lyme has these effects, I have had very few who will even treat me because of the illness. He prescribed five weeks of eye medications.
Unfortunately, I recently went back to my eye doctor and the inflammation was still there. He was surprised, as well as not happy that it is persisting. I am now taking an eye medication that is three times as strong. I’m really hoping this well get better soon. It is more than likely why its hard to even open my eyes in the morning. I also have a great deal of light sensitivity, dryness, burning, and even fatigue in my eyes.
Even with all the added issues, I had the privilege of coaching a friend mine with the hiring process and beginning stages of teaching with VIPKID. I have not been able to teach in over a year because of cognitive and sensory issues from Lyme Disease, but so enjoyed coaching! She has already started teaching so many classes. If you are interested in VIPKID, where you can make your own hours and supplement your finances, please let me know. I would be glad to help you through the hiring process. As you hire if you use my code it helps me within the company, and I am completely available to guide you through the process. Here is my code: APRIL0188
Today we had a local yard sale fundraiser. It was a massive success!!! There were so many donations from people within the community that we had to rent a storage building. When that filled up an enclosed barn was volunteered to store items! My mom worked herself to the bone pulling volunteers and making the sale happened. There were a great deal of people and churches in the community who volunteered time, storage, trucks, tables, clothing racks, volunteered to set up, work during the sale, as well as break down and transport items to other organizations to pay it forward for others in need. On top of all the help a great deal of the community came to the sale supporting me. Honestly, I am blown away and humbled by the outpouring of many many people!
On top of all the fundraisers and appointments, I celebrated many birthdays, including my younger brother, myself, family, and friends. My parents also celebrated their 43rd anniversary!
In addition to celebrating several loved ones, God has been teaching me so much. It has been really tough. As a friend phrased it as though, “it feels like God is ripping my flesh from my body.” But God is a gentle God, though it’s been hard, I also feel that these lessons and all the growth will be the difference in my life moving forward. God is exactly who He says He is. He will never leave you nor forsake you. There’s a whole new level of not being alone that the Lord is teaching me. There are trials, tribulations, and a great deal of pain in life, but God will always draw near.
Thank you so much for all the help, all the support, and the love that has been showered upon me. We are getting much closer to being able to start treatment. I will keep you up to date on all the happenings and treatment updates.
Please continue to pray for me as we navigate through this process and the constant of Lyme Disease. For all of you who have made it through this longer post, I would so appreciate it if you would share this and spread the word!
Thank you again for all your support.
