And So It Begins-Treatment is Starting Up in Full Swing.

After a six weeks of treatment being postponed, multiple doctors appointments, I am restarting treatment, on Monday, November 15, 2021. If I am being honest, I am nervous about restarting after such a long break. It kind of feels like I am starting treatment all over again from the beginning, except this time with the highest amounts of IV meds and intensities.
The main part of the protocol lasts two weeks straight through Thanksgiving. After that I will not have any time off before I return to D.C.
During this postponed time, I had several appointments some urgent some that have been pushed off for a long time. As far as the GI doctor, I had an endoscopy and for the most part things seem ok.
They've got me on some medications for irritated and inflamed stomach. I still have a hiatal hernia but the doctor wasn't concerned with it. I continue to have the stomach pain but the intensity is not as often. Other appointments went okay. I was referred to another doctor, my teeth are great but Lyme may be highly effecting my gums. So in case you don't know, because I didn't, there is a specific dental doctor for gums, a periodontist. At some point I will need to make that appointment.

Despite all the craziness, sickness, and pain, I am grateful for many celebratory and or pockets of joy moments from the last couple weeks. I got to celebrate my little Nikki Face's birthday, my nephew's 13th birthday, my niece and I did a "hair swap" where straightened my hair and Grammy curled hers. She had so much fun swapping. Also, my family celebrated another niece's birthday and my brother's 40th, and had the opportunity to go see my oldest niece's play. And lets not forget the breathtaking colors of the leaves.
For now, please be praying for me as I start this new protocol.
Pray that my body and mind can withstand restarting treatment.
Thanks for all your support.
